Hanse 400, brand new for 2008,follows in the footsteps of the headturning Hanse 430.
Available with either twin or single wheel steering and as usual the myriad of interior options. It is out on the water that the new 400 really excels.
The Hanse 400 turns the sailing world on its head. The owner's cabin is cleverly placed in the bow. In the Mediterranean this has long been the favourite concept, making for a quieter time when moored up and giving better headroom and more ventilation. But we went even further: We can transform the classic triangular berth forecabin into a diagonal sleeping area with a very special perspective - sitting up in bed and watching a flat screen entertainment centre which easily disappears into a locker when not in use. Access to the engine room is easy without demounting the companionway steps. You move it easily and elegantly upwards, supported by gas-pressure struts.
Sporting the same hull as her predecessor she now benefits from the new T speed keel, which both improves stability and her ability track through the water with minimal intervention from the helm. Despite being fast her main assets are her stability and feeling of safety when onboard.
A couple of different arrangements are available in the saloon. Most 400s include a U-shaped settee draped around a dining table to starboard. To port, you can opt for a settee, seats with a fold-out table between or swivel seats. There are modular style lockers with shelves between. Hanse 400 comes with 3double cabins and 2toilets.
